ASAR was called to participate in groundpounding mission 4 hours north of Santa Fe, for a missing man with a history of strokes, whose vehicle had been found on a nearby highway.

Stranded hiker on Ravens Ridge in deep snow. ASAR is deploying to deliver snowshoes, clothing and support to subject. ASAR teams were able to locate the subject and they were able to walk out under their own power.

Lost Hunter near El Rito, NM

Groundpounding mission in wintery weather and variable terrain for missing elk hunter outside of El Rito in northern NM. Subject was able to walk out in good condition!

Groundpounders requested for overdue hunter who was alone near the Taos Ski Valley, with his 2 llamas, in what was thought to be nearly 2 feet of snow from an early season storm. ASAR had a team of 3 on the way when another SAR team (Taos?) found the subject and assisted him and his exhausted llamas home!

Lost hunter at Holy Ghost campground

Local SAR teams were mobilized when a deer hunter failed to return overnight. Teams began searching the area surrounding the Holy Ghost campground in the Santa Fe National Forest while the subject walked out of the Wilderness under his own power.

Search for Injured Hiker in SF National Forest

ASAR responded for an evacuation of an injured hiker at Lake Katherine. Three people overnighted unexpectedly when a member of their party injured an ankle and was unable to walk out on her own power. ASAR members joined with a Sant Fe SAR team and began hiking up the Windsor Trail toward Lake Katherine early on 9/6/11. In the meantime, after a cold night out the subject's companions were highly motivated to help her limp out to the Cowles Trailhead where State police met her for transport.

Bike MS: Pedal los Pueblos

ASAR volunteered on August 27-28 to staff medical stations for the annual Bike MS cycling event. The two day fundraiser includes over 300 participants and coveres 140 miles, with aid stations every 10-15 miles.

Lost Woman Near Galisteo

Lost Woman Near Galisteo

A female day hiker left a group who were hiking to an archeological site because she felt fatigued and overheated. She planned to return to their vehicle but became lost. A mission was initiated by members of her group who returned to their vehicle after their hike and did not find her. A state helicopter was able to find her and bring her to incident base where she met ASAR team members who there provided assistance.

Tres Piedras Fallen Man

ASAR responded to a man near Tres Piedras who was severely injured after falling from a cliff, into an arroyo. Team members assisted the National Guard, Taos SAR and Taos EMS in caring for and evacuating the man.
